our dream honeymoon

Y'ALL.  I'm so happy to be back.  My life has done a 180 since the last time I was here and it feels like that was YEARS ago.  The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind and I just think back on my wedding day post with such happiness in my heart.  I didn't even know what what coming.  I could just cry thinking about how amazing our wedding day was and I want to jump up and down thinking about how incredibly joyful I've been since.  Y'all have been cracking me up commenting on my Instagram photos telling me how good marriage looks on me.  Even though I've only been married a whopping 11 days, marriage has changed me.  I absolutely cannot want to start writing about what all has happened in my heart and what the Lord is teaching me.  This is going to be a fun, fun journey.  

I'm ITCHING to share all the details about our day, but I want to wait until I have some photos to go with my recaps.  It'll be worth the wait. ;)

I can give you deets on something else, though... OUR HONEYMOON!  It is WILD that our honeymoon has already come and gone.  What?  Our engagement is over?  The wedding happened?  We're married and at home now?  Whaaatttt?  Everything happened in a flash and I'm still trying to wrap my mind around everything.  Our honeymoon was absolute perfection and we're already planning a trip back.  We stayed at the Excellence Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and were stunned at how incredible the service was.  We honestly do not have one negative thing to say about our resort and I think that speaks so highly of their service.  I'm already looking forward to our next Excellence trip!  But for now, here are our sweet honeymoon memories.

We're not first class flyers often... so when we are, we must document!

Our first view of the Dominican.  We flew in over the mountains and it was just a beautiful first look at the country!

The minute we arrived at the resort we were handed a glass of champagne as we waited to check in... I'll take that!

We checked out our room, got settled in, and headed out for dinner.  The resort had 8 restaurants to choose from and we lucked up and picked one of the best on the first night!  Barcelona was their Mediterranean restaurant and it was fabulous.  The atmosphere was so quiet and sweet and the food was perfect.  The Cole's win!

We slept in a little before heading out to breakfast and my, oh, my what a joy breakfast was.  I can't speak for Ty, but this was my favorite meal of the day.  Not because it was an incredible breakfast, but because it was such a nice, relaxing time to just enjoy my husband with anticipation of what the day would hold.  It also didn't hurt that they had the best coffee I've ever tasted. 

I'm not sure if Tyler was as thrilled over our sign as I was. ;)

After breakfast we threw on our swimsuits and headed down to the beach.  The temperature was in the 80's during the day and 70's in the morning and at night.  Perfection!

Our second night we had dinner at the Mexican restaurant.  You know this southern gal loves her Mexican!

Then we had a photoshoot in the room... 

Real life?  He's grabbing my butt here.  Hence the genuine happy face.  #married.

Later that night we headed to The Lobster House for dinner.  That is where they serve breakfast every morning and it definitely has the best view.  I could have taken in that view all day!

Then we had our final beach day.  Sad.

And then we had our final night out.  Sad.

And then we had our last morning watching the sunrise.  Saddest thing ever.

If you are a Bloom fan on Facebook you may have already seen this video, but here is another look at our sweet first week as husband and wife!  A couple of months ago I decided that I wanted to document our honeymoon through video and I'm SO glad we decided to do it.  When I told Ty about it I wasn't sure how he would react, but I think he loved it more than I did!  Ha!

A few things to note as you watch:

-At the very beginning Ty is reading the recap I wrote about the wedding.  Saturday morning I couldn't sleep so I got up and journaled every single detail about our wedding day.  I have 8 full pages of detail. Sweetness.

-The first few minutes are of our first morning together.  If you think I look like a ridiculously happy child on Christmas... I'd have to agree with you.

-All the sideways videos are from me... sorry. :)

My heart is so, so full.  I can't wait to really talk about all this married-ness with you.  

You know, after it finally sinks in that we're really married.
