Groom and Groomsmen attire DECIDED.
Who knew that this would be, hands down, the hardest part about wedding planning. Any little "tiffs" we had usually centered around his and his groomsmens' attire. We may or may not have had a day long fight over it. But, praise Jesus, we've decided and we don't have to think about it ever again! We both wanted something different and didn't want something way too formal, so this is what we came up with.
Sorry, this had no source on pinterest
Tyler will be in a light grey tux and the groomsmen will be in dark grey tuxes. Neither Tyler nor his guys will wear vests and they will all wear black ties. I love how clean and simple it will all look and Tyler is wearing the tux that he loves. We both win!
All details at the venue have been planned.
The first Thursday in 2013 my mom, my sister, and I went to Heartwood Hall to have our final meeting with the planner and owner.
We planned out the menu, the decor, the placement of everything, the ceremony order... EVERYTHING! It felt so good to sit down for a couple of hours and really dig into everything and make the final decisions. Let me just tell you that the food is going to be phenomenal, the decor will be simple and clean, and the ceremony will be everything I've dreamed of! I'm just beside myself that we will REALLY have a wedding there in just a few weeks.
The baker has been booked.
Yes, we totally waited until the last minute on this one. We were torn on what exactly we were going to do and eventually just decided to nix the cake idea for our guests. Our cake will strictly be for Tyler and me to cut and for our families to take home afterward. I know some of you traditional wedding goers are appalled and shocked that we won't serve cake, but we have an even better dessert for our guests! We will have a smores bar that will have two attendants to build our guests' smores (so they don't get messy!) after they have roasted their marshmallows. There will be cinnamon, chocolate, and plain graham crackers to choose from and milk chocolate, white chocolate, dark chocolate, and Reese's peanut butter cups for the gooey center! Can you say FABULOUS!? Seriously, I love it. I can't wait for our guests to have a ball with that.
Our cake is going to look like the cake below, except there will only be two small tiers. The very top tier on the cake below will be our bottom tier (it is 6 inches) and the top tier will be a smaller 4 inch tier. It will pretty much look exactly like this cake except no roses.
I think it'll be really pretty and simple. I'm excited to see how to whole cake table comes together. We will, of course, cut from the bottom tier and that will be the tier that our families split and take home. We will take home the top tier to have on our wedding night or the day after. What a sweet snack for the newlyweds. :)
My bridal session is BOOKED!
The Sunday after Valentine's Day I'll travel to Florence, Alabama for a bridal session with my sweet friend and photographer Tera of Armosa Studios! I'm so excited for a chance to get in my dress and prance around for a little while before getting all dolled up in it on our big day. I think I'm going to go very simple on my hair and makeup so that I truly look like "myself". I think it'll be really fun to have some images of me in my wedding dress without looking so done up.
I have a videographer!
I can't tell you enough how blessed I am by the people the Lord has placed in my life. The days seemed to really sneak up on us and I found myself wondering if we would have a videographer. Luckily Jon Sharman, the photographer that I work with, is a man of many talents because he will be doing all of our videography! It will be so special to have him capture some of our day! YAY for Jon Sharman Photography! You Memphis area engaged gals need to contact this guys ASAP!
We've really gotten SO MUCH done over the past couple of weeks and my to-do list is getting significantly shorter. Here's a quick look at what all we have left to do:
pre-marital counseling
order programs
buy Ty's wedding band
decide on guest book
buy materials/create favors
get our marriage license
buy small details for venue
decide on the "look" of our sweetheart table
book the hotel room for me and my girls for the night before
While there are a couple of "smaller" things left to do, this is basically it! It's coming down to the wire, y'all! 51 days to go!

You go girl! It'll be here before you know it! So soak it all in before you become Mrs Cole!
You are so close!!! So exciting! We have been having the same discussion about what the groomsmen wear haha.. Def can be a tough decision.
You are so organized! It'll be wonderful!
When our daughter was married recently, we made a photo book of the couple from the beginning of their courtship thru their engagement, and that's what the guests signed instead of a traditional guest book. (Have to make sure to use a permanent ink pen.) It was a great alternative, and the guests really enjoyed looking thru the photos.
Your wedding will be lovely, Nicole!
Gorgeous pictures! I have a giveaway going on at my blog right now, would love if you checked it out! xo
