I'm feeling really refreshed and ready for the week after the fun and simple weekend I just had. If you read my post on Friday, you know that I was having a social media free weekend. I'm happy to say that I was completely successful! I didn't touch Facebook, Twitter, OR Instagram all weekend and it felt so good. Tyler and I spent the weekend with our "married friends" in Arkansas and I got to fully devote myself to being there. I didn't have distractions while we were at dinner or when we were having game night. I could just be present. It was sweet.
This picture doesn't do it justice, but we saw a gorgeous sunset on our way to Conway. Constantly in awe of how detailed our God is.
We had dinner and caught up for a little while before starting a late night session of Phase 10. This Grandma was up late and was sure tired when we hit the hay around 2am. Kayla had to work on Saturday and the boys went and played golf for a few hours so I was left at the apartment alone... and still didn't give in to social media. :)
Saturday night after Kayla got off of work we met her at a local Conway restaurant, Pitza 4 2
Pitza 4 2 offers healthy choices from pita bread pizzas to salads to wraps. They use the freshest ingredients to create the yummiest meals. But, what's the 4 2 part? Pitza 4 2 teams up with Feed My Starving Children and for every meal purchased, Pitza for 2 donates the money needed to provide one meal of a starving child. You get a meal, a starving child gets a meal. Amazing, right?
This veggie pitza might have been the best thing I've ever eaten. I'm already planning to recreate it in the coming weeks!
After dinner we headed into Little Rock to do a little bit of shopping. Kayla and I found some serious steals at Forever 21 and Tyler picked out my wedding day perfume at Sephora. It was quite the successful shopping trip! Afterwards we visited a Little Rock favorite, The Purple Cow. The catch to this little diner is that you can get any and all of their shakes, malts, and ice creams in the perfect shade of purple. You bet we tried that out!
Tyler's yummy ice cream pie! Mmmmm
This was called the "purple cow". It was an ice cream soda... I ate all of it, of course!
We needed a group pic from the weekend, duh.
After we had eaten enough for the day, we went back home to finish our Phase 10 game from the night before and get some beauty sleep so that we'd be up and ready for church on Sunday. I was so excited to get to visit the church Chad and Kayla are thinking about joining. It is so special to me that we get to share in these experiences with them. They are truly some of the sweetest friends.
We headed back home and I finished out my social media free weekend and I'm so happy that I did it! Now, I know how good it feels to really be present in the moment without distractions. I still LOVE my instagram and will continue using it, but I'll just be using it in moderation. I know that the more I focus on the relationships around me the richer my life will be. Ready for that.
Did anyone else have a social media free weekend? Share your experience!

Looks like a great weekend! We need a Purple Cow here in Baltimore, esp. after the Ravens playoff win, they'd sell lots of purple ice cream!! :)
