To kick off our Christmas weekend my Mom, my sister, a friend of hers, and I drove to Nashville, Tennessee for a quick shopping trip. My Mom had gotten a really good deal for a night at the Opryland Hotel, so we drove in Thursday afternoon and hung around the hotel for the night.
If you've never seen the Opryland Hotel at Christmas, you are seriously missing out! There is something magical about that grand hotel during the Christmas season. There are lights hanging everywhere and Christmas decorations around every corner. The food is great and the atmosphere is even better. It was the perfect little getaway!
Friday morning we woke up early and hit the Opry Mills mall for a few hours before heading back home. It was the perfect kick-off to our Christmas!
On Saturday we celebrated Christmas with my Dad's side of the family. It was a sweet time and we enjoyed skyping with my Dad's sister and her family in India. They have been missionaries in India for the last several years and we can't wait for them to be home this Summer so we can meet that sweet new baby of theirs!
Christmas Eve Eve we spent the morning at church before hanging out with my Mom's family. The girls went and got holiday manicures and coffee before heading back to my parents house to grill out steaks.
The "babies", as they will always be called, spent the night "swimming" in the hot tub.
On Christmas Eve lunch we went to my Aunt Marilyn's house to eat and exchange gifts. It's ALWAYS a good time with the Wilson crew!
After lunch we headed back home and Tyler came over to spend the evening with my family. Since our holidays will change after we are married, my Mom wanted to start a new Christmas Eve tradition so Ty and I can spend Christmas morning in our own house. I am pretty much in love with how our Christmas Eve went and I'm already looking forward to next year! Mom cooked a yummy breakfast for dinner and then we opened up our Christmas pajamas (tradition we've had since I was a baby)! Tyler is now officially part of the family because he got PJ pants, too. :)
My "other brother" George spent Christmas with us again this year. And Anna is being her normal Anna self.
Christmas morning I experience Santa one last time! Santa has always been so much fun for us and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going to miss our Christmas morning traditions.
I'm so excited about my new 2013 Erin Condren planner! You better believe the first thing I did was circle our wedding date!
Tyler came over to the house and then we left to have brunch at my Nana's.
It was such a sweet Christmas morning! We went and picked Bella up before heading to Tyler's house for the afternoon. We had lunch and presents with his family and just enjoyed lounging around for the day. Once we were done their we went back to our house to enjoy Christmas night!
And then we had a white 26th. Not a white Christmas, but a white 26th. Good job, Memphis. You were a day late.
But, I still enjoyed the day after Christmas snow! I spent the morning in the hot tub before going to our house to see it all in white.
Precious.
Christmas was so, so sweet. I'm so thankful for the loving family that I have and the family that I am marrying into. We are blessed.
I hope that you and yours had a very merry Christmas, too. :)
Come back next week for a 2012 recap!
