I Heart the World

I enjoyed your feedback on yesterday's wedding vs elopement post so much!  It's so fun to me to get the opinions of the gals who read this little blog.  Funny, the NYC elopement photography blog that I follow did a post yesterday with tips for eloping in NYC.  Coincidence?  I think not...
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you ever find yourself obsessed with something before you realize you even like it?  That was me with owls a while ago (Before the rest of the world became obsessed, just so you know.).  Now, that’s me with maps and globes.  Maybe my obsession comes from my desire to travel the world, or maybe it’s just all the dang pretty pictures pinterest has to offer.  Whatever the reason, I long to decorate with maps and globes.  I want them everywhere.

I love the versatility of maps.  There are so many fun ways you could incorporate them into a house!

How cute would these look on a gallery wall?

I love how the map adds to the vintage look of the room.

Perfect for an office.  Keep little eyes from watching you as you work!

How insane would this be in a playroom or even a classroom?

Along with maps, there are so unique ways to use globes.  Good thing for pinterest, because I would never be creative enough to dream up these ideas!

I love the look of these chalkboard globes.  Not only do they look good, they would be perfect in a classroom!

What a focal point this would be in a nursery.

Easy way to get some practical use out of a globe.

What an easy, affordable, and interesting way to re-purpose a globe!

So, what do you think?  Are you already using maps or globes in your home?  Do you have any creative ways to use these elements?

I hope I’ve left you obsessed!

How awesome are all of those things?! I don't posess a single creative bone in my body, so I'm always envious of those that think that kind of stuff up.

I'm not obsessed with maps, but this post made me one step closer that's for sure :)

Oh I love this! It reminds me of a song I used to listen to in high school called Globes and Maps. I thought it was just FANTASTIC music at the time, but looking back, not so much! Ha! These are SUCH creative ideas though. My mom is a teacher so I'm going to have to share them with her!

I love those framed heart shaped map cutouts! Just might have to do something like that in a gallery wall. I saved a whole bunch of my husband's aviation charts (which are maps of airports, etc) and was going to put them in frames... this gave me some great inspiration. Thanks! (:

YES you left me obsessed! I have loved maps for years now but never done anything cute, creative or crafty with them. I think I'm going to try one of those ideas though with my maps from Peru! Thanks for sharing :)

Okay, now you've got ME wanting everything globe!
I've always adored those regular ol' globes to put on a mantel or something... it's sophisticated and grown up. They had them at TJ maxx for like $20!!

I just put your button up, too, by the way!

I am pretty sure I was the first or second girl in Cleveland to put feathers in my hair. I took them out!!! The pro to liking the hippie/vintage things is they are easy to find right now...the down-obvious. Just so you know, everytime I see an owl-you're my first thought! The heart pictures are my fav of these pics!
